Virtual Tour The University of Illinois at Chicago`s (UIC) Department of Public Administration offers Master`s, PhD and graduate certificate programs designed to provide both pre-service and working students with the theoretical understanding, analytical tools, and up-to-date information needed for successful careers in the public service. With six specializations to choose from, the programs inform students of the broad contexts of the profession; provide an understanding of organization theory and organizational behavior; teach the principles of human resource management and financial administration; instruct how to apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to solve problems and answer questions; introduce a broad range of management methods and tools, and explore current issues facing managers and administrators in the public setting. An optional internship is available.

Located on the historic 211 acre main campus just outside the Loops, Chicago`s central business district, the Department of Public Administration is part of the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs (CUPPA) and is located in CUPPA Hall. Graduate students have access to a variety of student lounges, and computer labs, and a full campus-based wireless Internet. Students also have access to any one of five library sites with print resources totalling more than 7.7 million printed works along with over 500 thousand electronic resources.
